Shiraz is Australia’s favourite red variety and is well suited to our sunny climate. Originating in the Rhône valley of southeastern France where it is most famous for producing wines blended with varieties such as grenache and mourvèdre.
Made from a blend of premium Langhorne Creek vineyards, this Shiraz is a ripe but elegant example of this classic varietal.
The wine has a bright, garnet colour with complex fruity aromas of blackberries and plums with cardamom, cloves and black pepper spice.
The palate is medium-bodied, with fine, balanced tannins merging with flavours of leather and oak. There is also a hint of spice with black pepper lingering on the finish.
Great with hamburgers, barbecued spare ribs or chicken, roast lamb, roast duck, grilled steak or vegetables, full-flavoured hard cheeses such as Gouda or cheddar.
